Niklas Aman, composer and guitarist, producing instrumental music, based in Stockholm. Most of the time he’s done music intended for other media, like short films, movies, documentaries, corporate videos, drama, phoetry and exhibitions. The last years has been all about musicplacements in films and broadcast. On a daily basis Niklas writes new music, looking for ways to improve in composition, performance, production techniques and to tell a story with sounds.

Longer version: Niklas first professional gig was back in 1992 as a guitarist in a small drama/dance – ensemble. As a spin-off effect he started to write music for dramaperformances, projects like “Skrack i sommarnatten” (1993) “Variete Vauduvill” (1994) and “Blue Orange” (1994) an experimental pop/phoetry-project. Over time he gained interest in doing music for exhibitions and this resulted in music to “Salt And Hagringar” in 1997, an exhibition about signs and symbols. Later on in 1999 he started his first business called “Blue Spot”, doing music for shorts, corporate vids and a few radio-jingles. A year later this resulted in doing production music for Match Music, BMG  (now Universal) on two cd’s called “Drama Toolbox” and “Stings & Audio Logos”. He got a great start when “BAFTA Awards” (BBC) used his sounddesign the whole evening back in 2003 (from “Stings & Audio Logos”).

Back in 2005 he changed name on his business to “Brusbox” (“Noisebox” in english) and he continued with doing bespoke music for corporate clients in parallel with writing experimental music in various forms. In 2007 he decided to work more focused on doing music adapted for film, published through various music libraries and publishers. A year later in 2008 with help from publisher Crucial Music he got a great placement, a 93s intro to the movie “Meet Bill”  (Jessica Alba, Aaron Eckhart). The song “Wings” was placed just months later once again by the same publisher in another movie  “Inconceivable” (Meg Tilly, Andy MacDowell).

The last years has all been about doing instrumentals and get them placed in film and broadcast. 2010 was an incredible year with music in movie Last Song (Miley Cyrus), award winning documentary “Talhotblond”, Spy Wars, Cold Case Files, Discovery Communications, Lion TV, History Detectives, Cartoon Network, NorthOne TV, Key Ring Business app, MedScool Maryland Production, Notional LLC, ByLauterbach, various corporate vids, Infor Eldsjalsgalan, Top Gear and Ralph Lauren documentary to name a few. In parallel with doing tracks for libraries Niklas also got involved doing music in two short film projects “Biljardkungen” by Dan Carrigan and upcoming 2012 “Love Like Hers” by Danny Lacey. 2010 was also the start of the Full Access Catalogue feat all songs by Niklas Aman available online for film makers, editors and music supervisors. This was also the year when he decided to publish selected songs on iTunes with the albums “Wings” and “Good To Be Here”.

2011-2012 has been a lot about doing custom music to short films and developing the music catalogue further. Furthermore great tv-placements has been made via other publishers. Album “Above the Clouds” was released in the fall 2011 and now the new album “Stirred Up” arrived released in early 2012.

Niklas is very keen on developing composition and production further, to find new ways to tell stories with sounds and maybe one of his dreams might become true soon – to score a feature film..
