A playful, warm but sparse minimalist acoustic arrangement feat subtle piano arpeggios, an ongoing alt/bass cello figure and comments by a lighter cello, both played with a pick. Tempo 120 bpm. Key D. Length 2:21.

The piano and cello recordings from earlier today feels very promising and fresh, but not that happy with development, a bit too loose and “drifting”.. Back to the drawing table tomorrow.

New acoustic track – “Getting Lighter”

Enjoy a warm upbuilding acoustic track feat various acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass, electric guitar, cello played with a pic and piano. Two stages, first slow-medium then at 1:17 the mandolins make a distinct double-time entry, still the buildup is linear there more and more stems gets added for each 2/4 rounds. There’s also another version with an additional halftime guitar intro called Getting Warmer. 200 bpm. Key G. Length 2:49. Download >> (for logged in clients)

Two acoustic projects in production

Continuing to work on the current two acoustic projects today. Project 1 might need a few additional guitar recordings and project 2 is soon to be mixed, ..just trimming the audio files and putting a selection of EQ’s on them. This is an area that excites me a lot – recording at different angels, applying subtle eq or compression using a range of plugs and/or pre-amps really opens up the sound and overall spatiality.

Cello played with a pick

was fun to record cello phrases using a pick! ..haven’t thought of it before but being a guitarist it’s my cup for sure.. I did continue on yesterday’s acoustic track adding 2 stems of pick-played cello and an upbuilding electric bass line as well.
